Time for some news!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of 2017. I know I am definitely looking forward to what the new year will bring.

The last year has been a time of change for me in a lot of ways, as I’m sure it has been for a lot of you.  The biggest bit of change for me was the end of the relatively long running Enchanted Lakes Ren Faire, which was my home faire, and biggest event for Bramblefae Boutique.  I’ll admit that I spent a few months adrift, creatively.

In November, I helped open a boutique-style shop in my town called Sassafras & Sage, and with that, I remembered how much I love creating things, and now I’m overflowing with creativity, ideas and new things.

Which leads us to the first bit of news-I’ll be updating the Etsy shop over the next week with some new things I’ve been working on. Working in the shop has structured my time in such a way that I am able to work on projects “of my heart”, basically. The kind of creative whimsy that drew me to jewelry design in the first place.

This current bit, the stuff I’ll be adding over the next week, is pretty themed.

Out of the Sea, from whence I came will encompass a handful of one of a kind pieces, some can be considered every day pieces, but some, like this crown, are a lot more special occasion whimsy (Although, it’d make me super happy for someone to make this an every day crown! 😀 ). These will get their own post after I’ve gotten some pictures taken and gotten everything posted to Etsy.

While I am looking forward to doing more one of a kind pieces, I also want to make it very clear that I am still very open for commissions and custom work.  ANYTHING you see in my Etsy shop, or my Instagram photos or on Pinterest even, I would be happy to help create something truly unique for you.  Commissions and custom work are some of my favorite things because I love helping you folks have a creative hand in something that you’ll treasure.

The last bit of news that I have right now is that I am probably going to phase out the Bramblefae Boutique Facebook page.  Over the last year it has kinda shown itself to, basically, be more trouble than it’s worth for me. 🙂 I have a far better response on Twitter and Insta, and I feel more like I’m building/ being a part of a community in those places.  So, please, if you don’t already, give me a follow on Twitter or Instagram, I’m bramblefae pretty much everywhere. 🙂

In the next month or so, I’ll have some more news to share with you folks. I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but I am really excited about this possibility, so look forward to that as well!

I hope all of you have years full of wonder and love and I look forward to sharing some of my wonder and love with you all. ❤

Wicked, Wicked Crown

I’ve talked about this a bit on twitter and on Facebook, but I’ve not been able to talk about it much until now. 🙂

See, I was tasked with making a crown that was dark and rough and evil looking. I was given a reference pic

"Can you do this, only dark?"
“Can you do this, only dark?”

I was also pointed toward Ravenna from Snow White and the Huntsman.

How Badass is that?

With those two pics in hand, I went to work.  I’m not gonna lie at all, this was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done, wire-wise. I wanted it to look rough and raw, but I didn’t want it too look like I just threw shit together.  It’s also the first time I worked with raw gemstones of any kind. (In this case, it was a raw garnet that fit comfortably into the palm of my hand. Huge.)

Fairly badass, as well, yes? :p

The chains were fun, because I have a drawer in the studio that is (Well, *was*, at this point lol) full of random chains that I pick up all over the place-yard sales, clearance sales, broken jewelry-seriously, I don’t throw anything away. 🙂

I am super super proud of this and I cannot wait to see it, looking awesome, wicked-evil and fit for a queen, on the woman who’ll be wearing it. Trust me, folks, as soon as I get those pics this summer, I will be sharing them with you. 🙂
