What I did this summer (and what I’ll be doing this fall, maybe)

Hi folks! Now that summer is mostly over, I thought it would be a good time for a bit of an update.

After the faire (And the realization that this was the last one), I’ve kind of found myself with a bit of a lack of creative gumption.

It’s getting better now, but this summer’s been one of me poking at things with sticks (metaphorically speaking) and seeing what’s up.  The cool part about all of this bellybutton contemplation is that I have some cool things coming into the Etsy shop, and a potential side gig (which you might hear more about as I get everything organized),  the less cool part is that the updates may continue to be kind of sporadic for a bit.

My schedule is pretty up in the air right now, and I have several things going on (Some of which you’ll see here.) that need my attenion, so while I am ABSOLUTELY open for commissions and custom work, I’m going to probably be slow on getting things uploaded to Etsy.

Also, for the first time in several years, I won’t be setting up at any autumn events this year, sadly. I’ve got family wedding things going on for each of those weekends.

So, with the free time I’ll have since I won’t be needing to restock so soon, I’m planning to branch Bramblefae out a little. In addition to all the wire work I do, I’m going to be adding some polymer clay work, and maybe some paper and/or planner related things. (Since I am IN LOVE with my Happy Planner!)

All in all, everything is good here, if a bit frazzled, and I am still constantly working on new things, just, be patient with me, I’ll update as I can. 🙂  In the meantime, follow me on twitter and instagram (both are accessible from the right side of this post. 🙂 )!

(And did I mention that I would love some commissions and some custom work? *grin*)

Enchanted Lakes Faire 2016 (And a little of what’s next!)

Now that the faire is over, and I am beginning to unpack and put things away, I can take a minute and make a post. 🙂  As always, I had a great time at the faire.   This was ELF’s first year at 2 weekends, and my first year as their vendor coordinator. Wearing both the coordinator hat and the vendor hat was quite a challenge, but that’s a post for another day, and probably another forum.

Tis a pretty view, yeah?

One of my favorite things, always, about ELF is the location. And this year, I had a wonderful view of the lake for both weekends.  I love this park. It’s very much trees and water and I love it. 🙂

So pretty

The only drawback this year was the heat. It was SO HOT, holy crap. But, everyone seemed to have a great time, even with the heat. 🙂

Now, though, I’m working to get things ready to open the Etsy shop back up by July 1st!  I’ll be adding quite a few new things, and over the next week and a half, I’ll be previewing some of it, so stay tuned!

Gearing up for Faire season

I have been bad at updates this year, I know. I had a harder time juggling two jobs than I thought I would. But, it’s easier now because this is my sole occupation at the moment. 🙂

I’ve been working on a lot of new stuff, but I haven’t been showing much of it yet, since it’s all going for this year’s Enchanted Lakes Renaissance Faire & Marketplace. This is the first year they’ll be doing two weekends, so I’m both excited and worried that I won’t have enough stuff. 😀 I’ll begin posting more pictures as we get closer.

Not too shabby, yeah?
Not too shabby, yeah?

I was pretty happy with last year’s booth, but I have some changes I plan to make for this year, and I’ll be sure to post about that too, as we get everything sorted.  I’ll tell you, I couldn’t do this at all without the help, encouragement and ideas of my husband, Paul.  That fella is pretty fancy.

So, if you get a chance, come see us either weekend this year (June 11, 12, and 18, 19)! I look forward to seeing folks!

Enchanted Lakes Renaissance Faire

For the third year in a row, Bramblefae Boutique was at the Enchanted Lakes Renaissance Faire and Marketplace, and as always, it was a wonderful, great time! I was set up near the pub, same as the last couple of years, although my booth faced toward the pub, instead of toward the lake (thanks to some pretty torrential rainfall the day before.), and I got to see and talk to A LOT of people.

Not too shabby, yeah?

This is the first year that I did not sell the elf ears off my head, but I did make a pair on the fly for someone who lamented that a pair they’d been eyeing was gone when they got back. Maybe I’m a dork, but I really do enjoy doing commissions and custom work. For the first time, I was pretty happy with my booth set up, although I can tell that I will need to add another 6 foot table to the mix before I do any more events.  I’ve also, thanks to Pinterest (ha!), really gotten a handle on displays. I had several folks ask if I would make my “Illuminated manuscript” ring displays for sale, which made me laugh.

You can see my "manuscript" display past all the parts and pieces. :D

It’s one of my favorite times of year, but now that it’s done, I’m looking forward. Next week, the shop will be back open, I will be taking custom orders again, and I will be blogging more regularly. 😀  Till then, folks!
