It’s a Garden Party!

Hi folks! After what seems like FOREVER, I have a new line of polishes! Here in Indiana, the winter has just dragged on, so we needed a set of polishes to help bring on Spring. πŸ˜€

I started with the idea of a Victorian era garden party and just went from there. πŸ™‚

Each of these polishes are available in the Etsy shop right now, along with 2018’s birthstone polishes- up to April, of course. πŸ™‚

March and Spring and Stuff

Been a minute, I know. I’ve been busy at work, and waiting for winter to be done in the part of the world I call home. πŸ™‚ Today, though, the sun is shining and the birds are singing and the snow is gone, so here I am with an update. πŸ™‚

I had planned to release the spring line in the middle of March, but then I got to thinking about how I opened the Etsy shop on April 2nd of last year.Β  So, I’ll be releasing the spring line- I’m calling it Garden Party, cuz that’s what the colors make me feel like- on that date. πŸ™‚ In March, aside from the birthstone polish, I’ll be releasing a couple random polishes I’ve been working on, including one that I think I want y’all to name for me. πŸ™‚

I mentioned March’s birthstone polish- Aquamarine is generally considered March’s birthstone so I paid homage to that with this polish, although it’s a bit brighter than the stone generally is.

It’ll be in the Etsy shop on March 1st. πŸ™‚ And throughout the month of March, I’ll be previewing the new line as well as a few other things as we lead up to the 1st anniversary of BeeFae Cosmetics as an actual thing. ❀

September’s Polish Pair and news!

Hi! I’m here to show off September’s Polish Pair and give a bit of news out!

First- The BeeFae Etsy shop is having a sale! Β Etsy’s recently given us the tools to run actual sales, and, so I am checking these tools out by having a sale. Through Tuesday, you can save 10% on 20$ or more! That’s 2 polishes! Not shabby, yeah?

Along with that, I’m keeping August’s Polish Pair in the shop for the duration of the sale, so if you haven’t picked them up yet, now’s your chance!

Okay! Now to September’s Polish Pair. This month I was playing around with the idea of the Northern Lights. Β They’re definitely on my bucket list to see. So, these two polishes are, like August’s, meant to go together.

The first is called The Merry Dancers. I was reading about how various ancient northern folks had looked at the Lights, and this was one of the ways Scottish folks used to refer to the Aurora Borealis, and I liked the idea, so I applied it to this polish. It’s a cool blue shimmer that has a gentle color shift between purple/pink and green and it’s proven exeedingly difficult to photograph well. *grin*20170830_100533

Next up, we’ve got Bardic Cloak. It’s sheer and sparkly and I really really love it.

The cool thing about them is that you can put a coat of Bardic Cloak over The Merry Dancers for extra fun!

So, I’ll get these in the shop early tomorrow (The 1st of September), that way you’ll have the chance to buy these at a discount for the weekend!

I’ve got some more things up my sleeve, and I’ll be talking more about them over the next few weeks!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

August’s Polish Pair!

Hi folks! It’s almost August. How the crap did that happen?! πŸ˜€

August’s Polish Pair follow a theme for once. πŸ™‚ August is my favorite of the summer months. Β It signifies the beginning of the end of Summer, the first harvests, and the first steps toward my favorite season-Autumn!

AugustPolishPair

Both polishes came about because of myth and story.

The Death of John Barleycorn is a glossy tan/beige with tiny brown flecks in it, something like ripe barley or wheat, and I love that barley was personified into a story/song.

There was three men come out o’ the west their fortunes for to try,
And these three men made a solemn vow, John Barleycorn must die,
They ploughed, they sowed, they harrowed him in, throwed clods upon his head,
Til these three men were satisfied John Barleycorn was dead.

Lyrics are fun. πŸ™‚

The second polish is called Samildanach. It’s an Irish gaelic word that means, basically, “Master of all arts”, and was a title given to the Irish deity Lugh, who’s festival, Lughnasadh, is generally August 1st. Since Lugh is considered a sky/sun god, this polish is all sorts of gold and sparkle. A sheer gold shimmer, with tiny scattered gold holo glitter throughout.

The cool thing about this pair is that, while they both look great alone, they also look great together, with Samildanach over Barleycorn. πŸ™‚

As always, these will be available the 1st of the month, and will only be available for the month of August, so be sure to pick them up!

Get Them While You Can!

Hi folks! You’ve got a little over a week to get both of May’s colors at a discount! (The same with the full starter set-Once May is over, you can buy them singly still, of course, but you won’t be able to get the discounted price!)

Through the month of June, you can still buy May’s colors, but after June, they’ll be taken from the shop. Β Forever? Who knows. πŸ˜€ I suppose that depends on you folks, so let me know if you like the colors and they may make a return later on.

In other news, I was playing with glitter awhile ago, and came up with something I loved so much I wanted to share it with you folks. Beyond the Seventh Wave is a really cool polish for a couple of reasons-I mean, it looks amazing, yeah? And it’s my first foray into jelly polish.

Later this week, I’ll formally announce June’s 2 Colors (even though I’ve teased them all over Instagram recently! πŸ˜€ ), and the next full line of BeeFae polish is nearly ready for testing-with a tentative release around the first of July.

Lastly, I am learning about, and will soon be playing with, thermochromic pigments (The kind that change color with temperature changes!). I’m excited!

I hope ya’ll have a good, productive week. Remember that you’re awesome. πŸ™‚

BeeFae’s (tentative) Release Schedule

Now that the Etsy shop is up and going, I feel like I want to let you folks know a bit about where I want to go for the rest of the year. πŸ™‚

While I work toward getting to a place were I can develop new colors and put out new polishes whenever the mood hits me, for now, I’m going to do releases in bits and pieces.

The plan is to release 2 more full sets of six polishes this year (Tentatively in July and October) and 2 polishes per month in between those, with potential surprises here and there. Like, I’m working on a good black and a good white, and I’ll likely plop those in whenever they’re ready. πŸ™‚

On that note, I’ve released May’s color pair early-You can get them here and here!

I’m also going to add 5ml bottles of polish to the shop in May because I know some folks want to try colors before they buy a big bottle. (I’m still fiddling with labeling. πŸ™‚ )

And! In May I’ll start offering a custom color service. My idea is to create custom colors for folks who need special gifts (Weddings, friends, Tuesday. πŸ˜€ ). I’ll give that its own post.

Lastly, I would love input from you folks! Tell me how you like the polishes so far, tell me what I could do better, tell me what colors you’d like to see!
